Dear Lord,
I pray over everyone associated with a relationship in some form of a mother role this weekend.
Too many women have expectations met with disappointments around Mother’s Day that few others can comprehend.
May we all go into this weekend with a deep sense of satisfaction and gratitude for our experiences, even if they are not what we hoped our prayers and investment would bring.
I celebrate the healthy families who are connected and anxious to spend time together. I pray for with the ones who have yet to find each other’s presence a place to celebrate.
I pray for the women who are desperate for a baby and face a devastating monthly reminder when Your answer remains no.
I pray for those who are facing something they do not feel prepared for and for those who, like me, are recovering from abortions.
I pray for those facing this occasion without the mother who poured her life into theirs. I pray for those who had mothers who barely acknowledged their existence outside of how the child made her look and everything in between.
I pray for all who have a wound and all who do not. I pray for healing and protection over relationships that reflect You.
I pray for hope and contentment for what we have. Protect us from being obsessed with what we do not have.
Thank you, Lord, for giving me the mothers I had who led me here. I pray gratitude l for the one who entered my family through a second marriage. I thank You, Lord, for the opportunity to have been a mother to many through my gifts and their need.
Lord, please help everyone who needs extra support this weekend to turn to You and recognize You are the greatest of all things; Your presence is all we need for satisfaction.
Help everyone discover satisfaction in You in a personal way.
Thank you, Lord, for sacrificing Your Holy Son for my sin. Thank you for counting me worthy of Your throne because I accepted Your most generous gift in salvation.
May You be enough for all our days as we praise You in all things.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Amen.
