Depression hurts, but we can do the hard work required to heal from it if we are willing to self-reflect.
If we have been abused by those who criticized and put us down, we struggle with seeing our shortcomings.
There is no room for self-reflection in survival mode. We seem selfish and narcissistic, but we exist with a dysregulated central nervous system from the taunting and gaslighting that makes us susceptible to manipulation by one who views our life with little distinction from inanimate objects.
For the narcissist, life is a chess game that is all about the win.
Mental illness ensues when someone we trust(ed) disregards the beautiful innocence and sensitive nature of our hearts. They are intentional, unbeknownst to us, to do all they can to extinguish our light. They make us suicidal. I am no longer suicidal after 54 years. I left the toxicity, found love, am healing, and starting anew. 😊
We can all heal, live happy, healthy lives, and leave a legacy worth living up to if we are willing to do the hard work of getting to know who we are, independent of mind control.
My self-care journal is not exclusive to those in narcissistic abuse, but it is a great resource for someone who needs to get out from under the control of narcissistic abuse.
Healing starts with self-care. You will not have a quality relationship with the Lord if you do not know who you are and genuinely seek who He is. A superficial relationship with God gets us nowhere.
I have written a journal to help guide people through self-care, to be used individually or in a relationship.
